In Remembrance

Sandy was from the Rosebud Reservation in SD and was tied in the 106° sun with no food, water, or shade. She was infected with the Parvo virus, but with no signs when Jackie Heinert took her in. Take the Lead, (Borders without Boundaries Rescue), took her to Mn to have a wonderful life. She was so full of spirit and enthusiasm! She started getting lethargic after about 4 days in MN and was taken to the doctor twice. We were told she had her shots, so Parvo wasn't suspected since she wasn't vomiting and didn't have diarrhea. By the 3rd day, the weekend, she was deathly ill and was rushed to emergency. She survived the weekend and looked as though she had turned a corner. Was then taken to the regular vet and passed away Monday night. The only good part is she wasn't tied out in the sun and hungry and thirsty or alone and was in a clean place before she passed. She had a couple of days of love and play! She is a trooper in our hearts and missed!
