Bowwow!

My name is Rudy and I am a Dachshund mix about 1 ½ to 2 years. I was rescued in a parking lot after jumping into the backseat of a car. I had bite mark wounds around my neck and one of them was a big abscess. It hurt a lot and I was afraid to be picked up. But thanks to several caring people and a foster home my wounds are almost all healed. I am current on my shots, neutered, heartworm checked, and had a few other medicines given to me so I would feel better.

I have a very inquisitive and expressive face. I am also perceptive when admonished for doing something that I should not be doing. I will hang my head and go lay in my basket to contemplate my erroneous actions. I am house broken, unless you leave me for too long of a time.

I have settled into a daily routine with my foster Mom and her Schnauzer, Sasha. Sasha and I are getting along pretty good and we even play together at times. Just the other night Sasha and I chased a big jack rabbit. We had fun, but my foster Mom was not too happy about us running off. We finally broke the chase and hung our heads returning home. I do like the “trail of a good scent,” so I will probably need a fenced yard to protect me.

I am becoming less and less apprehensive about sudden movements. I don’t think I would do well with bigger dogs or children, as I am fostering in a quiet home setting. As for cats, well, I have been around one and barked at it while it hissed at me. Not very friendly, those cats, so I am not sure how I would do with one.

I have several favorite toys at my foster home. I also enjoy play-time with a soccer ball and will nose the ball in circles and then push it back to you.

I am very loyal to the one who loves me and cares for me. I am definitely and inside, lap-dog and enjoy a little television in the evening. If you are looking for a companion and enjoy watching television, then I am the one for you! I can’t wait to meet you. Are there any treats?

Bowwow!
